Typical shrub roses have tall, arching canes, and are generally tall, shrubby plants with many blooms. Generally, they reach 4 to 12 feet tall and wide, depending on the variety.
All shrub & bush roses are delivered bare root in January, potted and ready for sale/pickup in March. They may be purchased online and picked up in store, and tend to sell out quickly.
A joyously warm and inviting variety bearing deeply filled, cupped rosette blooms of rich sunset orange-yellow paling to lighter apricot tones over time. A healthy and upright, bushy shrub with a complex medium-strong Myrrh fragrance. Any orders placed before April 1, will not be available for pickup until April.
When young, the outer petals of each bloom form a perfect ring around an inner cup, gradually opening out to form a perfect, medium-large rosette. The color is a deep, rich crimson-pink, taking on a tinge of mauve just before the petals drop. There is a light-medium fruity scent. It forms a compact shrub with attractive bushy growth. A majestic rose bearing clusters of large, crisp apple blossom pink rosettes, paling to the gentlest blush white. She has a strong, sweet, fresh fragrance with hints of lemon sherbet and Old Rose. A magnificent variety, bearing medium sized, many petalled rosette blooms. They are a striking shade of deep pink, the outer petals of each bloom paling slightly over time. The beauty of the blooms is enhanced by a wonderful, strong fruity fragrance. A vigorous rose; it forms a very shapely, broad, rounded shrub with mulberry purple stems and dark green foliage, giving the overall impression of richness and abundance. Bears large, many petalled, deep pink rosettes, each with a button eye. There is a light-medium strength fruity fragrance. It forms a neat and tidy shrub with a bushy, upright habit. Named for the son of David Austin Senior and brother of David Austin Junior. Any orders placed before April 1, will not be available for pickup until April.
Pale peachy pink buds gradually open to form neatly cupped, cream rosettes. Each bloom has a perfect ring of waxy petals enclosing numerous smaller petals. Eventually the petals turn back to form a large, domed flower. It forms a vigorous, rounded, almost thornless shrub, its blooms nodding attractively on the branch. Named after an 8th century limestone sculptured panel, discovered in Lichfield Cathedral. Any orders placed before April 1, will not be available for pickup until April.
Pretty buds open to beautiful, cupped rosettes of an even, mid pink coloring. They have a light to medium fruity fragrance. It commences flowering exceptionally early in the season and flowers in flushes until well into the fall. It forms a very healthy, well-balanced shrub with dark green foliage, which shows off the flowers to the very best effect. Sultry Night Shrub Rose features large flowers in magenta pink with hints of blue. Each petal has a lighter reverse, adding a mystical shine to this shrub rose and an unforgettable heat to the garden. A delightful, unassuming rose of typical Old Rose beauty. It is a pure white sport of the pink English Rose, ‘The Mayflower’. The remarkable thing about these two roses is that, in so far as we are aware, they are completely free from disease. The medium-strong fragrance is perfectly Old Rose in character. It is extremely winter hardy, with upright, bushy, twiggy growth. Named for the founder of Portmeirion Pottery, who was a great enthusiast of the English Roses. Bears rich yellow flowers, which pale over time. Their formation is most pleasing, having a neat outer ring of petals enclosing an informal group of petals within. There is a strong, wonderfully rich fragrance with a hint of lemon, which becomes sweeter and stronger with age. It forms a bushy, nicely rounded shrub with arching branches and rather shiny foliage. The blooms start as perfectly rounded buds, opening to full, cupped flowers that are rich creamy yellow at first, fading to almost pure white in the sun. They have a delicious fruity fragrance that has a definite hint of citrus. Very healthy; it forms a neat, compact plant, even in warmer areas.
