Welcome to Wingard’s Trees That Require Shade

We carry a large variety of trees and sizes, and those shown here are among the most popular year after year. At Wingard’s, our trees are organized into those that are evergreen, principally used to screen structures, fences, etc; others are flowering and deciduous, meaning that they lose their leaves in the Fall, and produce a beautiful bloom; trees that provide shade are generally taller and deciduous; others are trees that require shade, such as dogwood trees. Japanese Maple Bihou
Acer palmatum 'Bihou'

This tree likes SHADE or PARTIAL SUN. At maturity it gets 8-10 feet tall and 4-6 feet wide at a MODERATE growth rate into an upright, vase shape. It has yellow stems, and leaves are chartruse with red edges and turn yellow/orange in the fall before dropping in the winter. Increase watering in the heat of summer to avoid leaf scorch.

This tree likes SHADE or PARTIAL SUN. At maturity it gets 20-25 feet tall and 15-20 feet wide at a MODERATE to SLOW growth rate into an upright, spreading shape. It has burgundy foliage and turns crimson in the fall before dropping in the winter. Increase watering in the heat of summer to avoid leaf scorch.
